Day 13 of 365

I got the opportunity to photograph part of the Portland Old-Time Music Gathering this Friday and it was pretty amazing. I’ll post photos from the event soon (and the Scottish Rite Center, where it was held), but here is my outfit from the night.

Side note: I got stood up on Friday night and planned on staying in with a bottle of gin and a season of How I Met Your Mother. After an hour of wallowing in my own bullshit, I put on this new dress, made up my hair and went out to photograph this Music Gathering. Then I went out with two of my best Portland friends (whom I worked with back in college) and we spent the rest of the night having a wonderful time. 

One thing I’ve learned since 2012 has started? Always have a back-up plan - sometimes, they’re even better than the night you actually had planned!

This is my future Outfit of the Day for tomorrow night! 

I’m going on a friend-date tomorrow with my girlfriend of 10+ years, Kendra. For Christmas this year she’s taking me to see Cavalia (I KNOW, YOU ARE JEALOUS) and beforehand we’ll be grabbing a nice, sit down dinner. She and I have a pretty interesting (and completely insane) history, but she’s one of those friends who isn’t going anywhere. It’s one of the million reasons I love her.

Every so often, we go on “friend dates” - we dress up, make ourselves up, put on the sexy heels and go out on the town. We’ve had some crazy nights together, just us two, so tomorrow won’t be an exception. I’m so excited, I can barely breathe! Here are the details:

Side note: These jeans are some of the most comfortable pants I have owned in a while, plus they look great with heels! I have the hardest time finding jeans that fit (they’re always too big in one area), so these were a very happy surprise.

It feels like it’s been years since I’ve done a real, well done, “I took out my big camera” Outfit Of The Day. I was at the office today working and the studio is right next door, so I just couldn’t help myself. :)

It’s been a pretty simple day - I was supposed to shoot photos for a friend, but he apparently forgot about it and so I ended up taking these photos instead. Everything worked out for the best because the office is dead today, so I got some real work done! Now I’m off to ride ponies, than meet up with some friends for a beer & video games night. YES.

Also, the exclamation point is my newest punctuation tattoo - isn’t it rad?! It’s only two months old, but I still can’t stop looking at it in the mirror when I get out of the shower. Thought it deserved a photo on my blog! :D

It’s been over a month since I took these photos (they were shot on September 19th), but it feels like I look pretty different. My hair is so much blonder and longer now!

I went out with three of the coolest people I know last night, Nathan, Max and Kendra. I’ve known them since high school, and I still can’t believe we’re all still great friends after these years apart. We hit up one of our favorite local bars, drank a truck load of beer, played darts (badly) and talked for hours. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in ages. I’m sorry the pictures aren’t up to par with some of my others, but I got ready after dark and had to take them in my bathroom!

Outfit of the day-

It’s sunny and gorgeous in Portland today, so I needed a sunny outfit to match. I’ve had a pretty crazy 24 hours, but tonight is Last Thursday, the monthly Alberta Street Fair. Thank goodness too, I need a night to decompress.

My hair has been growing so much lately, I’m reaching the point where I don’t know what to do with it all. My haircut isn’t for another week and a half, so right now I’m just trying to find ways to put it up and keep it out of my face. It’s just too damn warm to have such long hair, but I REFUSE to chop it all off yet. I’ve worked so hard to get it this long, no going back now!

The other thing about Bree and I? We’re complete opposites in a lot of ways. I think it’s one of the best things about our friendship. She makes me more calm, more free and less self-conscious. I think I help her feet hit the ground more often. She’s definitely got a warmer personality and can put a whole room at ease. I can much colder and quieter, a bit more introspective.
