Note to Randi: WILL YOU MAKE ME UP LIKE THIS?

God, I fucking love me some sexy eyeliner. Also, never thought I’d say this, but I wish I were PALER.

I have to leave soon, but this is my hair/make up for this benefit I’m going to tonight. A friend of mine is an opera singer and is preforming, so it’s bound to be an outstanding evening.

Our favorite beauty look.

Ok, I’m going to go on a a tangent here real quick. Just bear with me.

THIS IS TOO MUCH PHOTOSHOP. Good god. I’m not sure who was editing this photo and prepping it to be sent out into the universe, but the job they did is embarrassing.

I’m a photographer, but I’m also an expert photoshop editor. I’m fully aware that most photos these days are edited before being printed or put online, and normally I’m ok with that. A few little tweaks, including adding a little bit of skin softening is alright. I get that people want to look like they have soft and luscious skin, and I’m alright with faking it sometimes.

But in all seriousness, this model is probably just gorgeous on her own without all the blurring and editing. And it looks so totally fake, it’s shocking that this has made it across the blogosphere without someone already commenting on it. Look at the skin on her neck. Then look at the skin on her face. How can you NOT be kind of offended by this?

If anyone needs wonderful, EXTREMELY TASTEFUL Photoshop/editing work done, contact me. I mean jesus. I’m probably cheaper anyways, and definitely better.

Tangent over.

Last night’s rosemary/almond foot soak and charcoal face mask. YES. I felt so relaxed last night, I feel asleep so fast and slept for longer than I have in weeks.

I feel freaking great today.

Natural Beauty Care

I got the most amazing book a while back called Natural Beauty At Home by Janice Cox and I’m in love with it. Despite the fact that I’ve realized I can make my own beauty products for a fraction of the cost, I’ve also realized that I (along with tons of other women) forget to pamper themselves. Since I got it, I’ve done a few face masks and my skin has been feeling amazing. This Strawberry Acne Mask is a must, especially with skin like mine :)

On top of that, I also have a weekly foot-care ritual. I use Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme on my feet right before bed, wrap them up in my handmade socks (made by my mom!!) and than go to sleep. When I actually remember to do this, my feet feel so much happier and they always feel much softer. I highly recommend the cream and I HIGHLY recommend that more people take the time to do this. Rough, callused feet be damned!
