The other thing about Bree and I? We’re complete opposites in a lot of ways. I think it’s one of the best things about our friendship. She makes me more calm, more free and less self-conscious. I think I help her feet hit the ground more often. She’s definitely got a warmer personality and can put a whole room at ease. I can much colder and quieter, a bit more introspective.

The details from today. I’m in her shirt and rope belt, she’s in my Old Navy tank top. :)

Bree and I have been friends for a while now and I’m so happy she agreed to be on the blog with me. We met when we worked at the Oregon Zoo together and bonded over our love of photography and animals and our hatred for the hideous uniforms we had to wear. I don’t like the word “soul mate,” but for Bree I’m willing to make an exception.

She’s like the photography soul mate I always wanted to find. She and I get inspired together, shoot together, edit together and rinse and repeat quite regularly. I’m not sure what I’d do if I didn’t have her in my life. I’d definitely have less of a photographic spark, that’s for sure.

She’s also about my same size, which makes the whole friendship a million times more wonderful. Today, I thought we’d top-swap! Details to come soon!

Outfit of the day :)

I’ve had a busy day, I’m going out tonight for some much needed r&R, so all I have is this. For now anyways, details will be up late tonight!

BUT FIRST, BEER!

Outfit of the Day - I had some work at the office today, so another professional OOTD!

Shirt: Lane Bryant, thrifted at Savvy Plus

Pants: Lane Bryant, thrifted at Savvy Plus

Shoes: Payless

Earrings: From my friend Randi

Ring: Handmade by a friend in college

I LOVE this shirt, it’s one of my favorites. It’s been a recent discovery, but I look really good in white, so I want to start wearing it more! Also, these are my “21st Birthday” shoes, so they have a long history of wonderful stories. I don’t wear them often, but when I do they remind me of that freaking-fantastic birthday.

Much love!

From a series I did back in college (I love that I can say that now). They are thusly named: Drugged, Shocked, Hysterical and Distressed.

Outfit of the Day, WORK edition! I do actually have a job, and at that job I don’t normally wear all my “outlandish” dresses that I feature here on my tumblr. So I thought that I’d show you what I look like on a normal day at the office :)

Flats: Mia

Bracelets: Emily Jane

Sunglasses: Forever XXI

Silver Hoop Earrings: My mother’s (they were a gift from my uncle and are older than I am!)

I’ve got a few more detail shots in the mix, they’ll pop up later tonight. Also I’ve got a few too many questions in my Ask box, so those will be up later tonight too!

Hello Tuesday! :) Quick post, going out tonight with my buddy Megan, gotta be out of the door in… 2 minutes?

Everyone have a great night, I know I will! Today was horrendous and stressful, I seriously need a night of fine dining and good company. Oh wait, that’s what I’m doing…. ;)

My OOTD from Friday, continued! I was too busy to upload the details on Friday night (obviously, I was having a blast with my old coworkers!) and spent yesterday running errands, so today it is. I couldn’t wait to upload these detail shoes too, because I finally have a good shot of my ampersand tattoo. Happiness! :)

Dress: Apostrophe, thrifted at Savvy Plus

Shoes: Qupid, gift from my friend Bree

Earrings: Borrowing from my friend Randi

I got in two questions in my Ask Box this past week, both about what size I wear and where I buy, so a quick note about a lot of the things I wear: I usually buy from a size 14 to 18, depending on the brand. Rarely do I buy new, I’ve thrifted around half of what I own. I’ve recently graduated from college, my student loans are already piling up, I’m moving to a new apartment in about 3 weeks and I like to eat, so spending money on nice, new clothes isn’t a top priority. However, as a plus size, I have a really hard time finding well-taken-care-of clothes in my size. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time, but when I stumble on awesome pieces (like this dress), it makes all the shopping, trying and disappointment worth it.

What I Learned This Week, ellie-baby edition

My dear friend Joe, of Losrville fame, does a “What I Learned This Week In Losrville” post every week. It is seriously my favorite thing to find on my dashboard, because they tend to be hilarious and/or disturbing. Normally, I don’t have enough entertaining things to post about crazy/fun/weird shit I’ve lived through and learned.

This week was different. So in honor of Joe…

1. Beautiful, blue-eyed men named Nathan think I should be told “I’m gorgeous” every day of my life. We like beautiful men named Nathan.

2. I am capable of not being insanely awkward when being asked out on date. This is a new development in my life.

3. I’m not a horrible writer, who knew?

4. I don’t take kindly to people telling me what to do. If you do, I will most likely do the opposite. I have a very long history of this.

5. I’ve worked a lot of jobs in my life, but my coworkers from the Oregon Zoo know how to party the hardest. One of them is a kindergarten teacher and she is a contender for the craziest of all.

6. Fleas are far worse than any internal disease. They’re micro-reincarnations of the devil.

7. My mother can quote E.T by Katy Perry, and when she does, it’s that hilarious/disturbing combo.

8. I am always late. Always. With everything in my life. Sometimes it doesn’t matter, but other times it’s actually kind of worrying.

9. If you’ve never met me, I can convince you that I am actually from South Carolina.

This may be a new, weekly post. Thanks for the inspiration Joe- and if you aren’t following Losrville, you should be.

“Maw, I love you! Pet me!”
